To the south of Bude lie Widemouth Bay, Boscastle and Tintagel. The whole coastline is a walkers' paradise, whilst further afield visitors will find the granite plateau of Dartmoor and the infinite charms of Exmoor, and the Eden project is about 1½ hours' drive. There is sailing and wind surfing (courses available) on Roadford Lake (4 miles away) as well as fly fishing for brown trout and a perfect place for picnics.
